Manchester United 3 : 0 Everton – Player Ratings

Manchester United bounced back from their dismal 3-0 loss to Arsenal, with a brilliant 3-0 over Everton at Goodison Park.

Goals from Morgan Schneiderlin, Ander Herrera and Wayne Rooney secured all three points for United – something that keeps the team just 2 points behind neighbours Manchester City. Next weekend, the two Manchester clubs meet in a Super Sunday clash, something Van Gaal believes will show whether his side are title contenders or not.

The Red Devils dominated the game throughout and never showed any signs of letting their early lead slip, despite Romelu Lukaku’s best efforts. The defence held together brilliantly, and showed how far along Chris Smalling has come. As well, both Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo looked solid at the back – the Argentine played at left back and was a big part in the first two goals.

Wayne Rooney was a big talking point after the game, his goal finished the game off – but his poor first half performance probably should have merited a substitution.

Overall, it proved to be a great win for United who massively needed a confidence boost. Now they face a trip to Russia against CSKA, before flying back to Manchester and battling against their noisy neighbours.

Here’s how we rated the Manchester United side:
