Manchester United take on bitter rivals Manchester City on Sunday in what is being hailed as the fixture of the season.
Pep Guardiola’s City lead United in the table by 8 points, drawing just one game all campaign. United have been brilliant league-wise too, but are no match for City’s dominance thus far.
A win for City at Old Trafford would make it a huge task for anyone to stop the Sky Blues, whereas a win for Mourinho’s men would make the title race a whole lot more interesting.
United have a few injury concerns heading into the game. Midfielder Marouane Fellaini is a slight doubt with a knee injury along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic who missed both of United’s last fixtures against Arsenal and CSKA Moscow.
Phil Jones is likely to return following a calf injury he sustained whilst on international duty with England, but Michael Carrick and Eric Bailly will definitely miss out on the clash.
United’s midfield will have taken a huge hit with Paul Pogba’s absence following suspension, and Nemanja Matic’s injury is also a big concern, however Jose Mourinho says the Serbian WILL play.
Manchester City could be without David Silva who is a doubt for the clash with a muscular injury. He will be joined on the sidelines by long-term absentee Benjamin Mendy, and John Stones who is out for the rest of 2017 with a hamstring injury.
