Manchester City vs Manchester United: Preview and Predictions

A couple of days back wemanaged to zero in on the Three End of Season Goals for United. Fans should now be more confident than ever that the 1st one can be achieved as City seem to be in trouble. Their performance against Liverpool gives hope to Mourinho’s side who were expecting to face a City squad fresh from another win until the Champions League surprise After seeing what happened in the Champions League, it is now safer to say that the Citizens will not win the title this weekend. The will win it in the next couple of weeks but maybe not against United.

In terms of squads everything is fine for both sides with some minor exceptions. The only unavailable player for United will be Romero but unless something totally unexpected happens with De Gea, the Argentine’s absence should not matter that much. For City, Aguero is unlikely to start despite being rumored as fit for match day.

Signs point towards a win for United. Aside from a more than certain drop in moral for City, there’s also a matter of direct results. United have the advantage here with 20 Premier League wins out of 41 direct games. In the last 5 confrontations, The Devils never lost to more than one goal nor won with a bigger difference. It will all be in the details – details like who scores first, fan support, manager moves and even referee decisions.

The ones to watch for Manchester United will definitely be those up front. Sanchez, Lingard and Lukaku are in top form and should be the ones making a difference. On the other side, Sane looked very good against Liverpool just as De Bruyne so some extra attention should be paid when it comes to these two. Walker on the other hand was not at the top of his game so whoever plays on the left wing could do some serious damage.
