Manchester United took a deserved point away from Anfield, and they could have had even more if Paul Pogba had put away his chance in the second half.
However, they had to withstand some heavy pressure from Liverpool earlier on in the game, and one of the standout performers on the night was Victor Lindelof.
Some supporters were disappointed that the Swedish international replaced Eric Bailly in the starting lineup for the match but, after making 10 clearances (the most of any United player this season), fans on Twitter heaped praise on the defender:
man was phenomenal

Ole won't get the credit he deserves but it was the right call to pick Lindelof

Contender for MoM. Had a really good game.

Not gonna lie, I was furious that he started over Bailly, but what his performance shown was that our depth at CB is good and we can rely on our backup centre backs no matter the opponent. He played brilliant today.

Fair play to him, proved us all wrong who wanted bailly to play

Luke Shaw was undoubtedly the man of the match for the Red Devils, but Lindelof was certainly not far behind in terms of the defensive work he put in.
The 26-year-old has been playing with a back injury throughout the season and it’s likely manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will continue to rotate him and Bailly in upcoming games.
