Man Utd Vs Crystal Palace – Match Preview & Prediction

Manchester United will welcome back Ander Herrera into the team for the clash against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford later today. The former Athletico Bilbao star was missing over the weekend when Manchester United played and defeated Aston Villa as a result of the injury suffered against West Ham.

Manager Louis Van Gaal gave details on the infirmary via an interview with the Manchester United Official Website earlier this week whilst providing an update on the injury players;

“[We have] no injury problems, only the players who are injured already for a long time – Schweinsteiger, Shaw and Januzaj. I think Herrera shall come back.”

The Spaniard has been in impressive form for United in recent weeks and his return to the team is certainly a welcome development for the Red devils. Herrera alongside Michael Carrick and Maroune Fellaini impressed in the midfield against West Ham in the quarter final replay last week and Van Gaal will be hoping with Herrera returning to the team, the trio will continue from where they stopped last time.

Marcus Rashfold is also said to be in line for a start after the England under 20 star. The 19-year-old has scored a total of 7 goals in 12 matches for Manchester United.

“I changed him after 70 minutes, I believe, and that is also to give him a little bit of rest, the boss continued. He didn’t train the day after and also the day after that he didn’t train. I want to keep him fresh because he is in the momentum of scoring and that is very important for him but also for the team. That is why I don’t rotate him.”

Louis Van Gaal has also provided an update on the injury situation of Luke Shaw who has been out with a broken leg since September last year,

He’s very positive, he’s doing great. He’s training with the physiotherapist but he has to train with the football coach and that hasn’t happened yet.”

With Manchester City drawing against Newcastle United yesterday, the Red devils have a good chance of sneaking into the top four but a win against Crystal Palace is a must if the club truly wants to play Champions league football next season. No more slip ups can be allowed.

We are predicting a 3-1 win for United.
