1) Yan Diomande

United’s interest in the Ivorian international has become known following the club’s failure to land Antoine Semenyo ahead of rivals Manchester City.

Diomande has only been playing professionally for less than a year, having made his senior debut last March, but he has turned heads with his performances both for his club, RB Leipzig, and for his country at the African Cup of Nations.

The main stumbling block is the 19-year-old’s price tag. Leipzig signed him from Leganes back in July, and reports in the German media claim the Bundesliga side are not prepared to let him leave for less than €100m (£87m).

United will also face competition for Diomande’s signature from the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
