1) Anton was born in Asia
Despite never playing outside of Germany, the centre-half’s birthplace is actually Almalyk in Uzbekistan – the same country of origin as Man City’s Abdukodir Khusanov.
Anton moved to Europe at a young age, joining Muhlenberger’s youth academy at the age of 7.
He spent five years there before joining Bundesliga 2 outfit Hannover 96 in the summer of 2008.
