Man Utd could sign “one more midfielder” this summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils have wrapped up deals for Chelsea’s Andrey Santos and Aston Villa’s Youri Tielemans in recent days, but speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said:
“Let me say Man United are probably not done in midfield. So they could still do something else in terms of adding one more midfielder before the end of the window.”
“Man United are assessing options, are talking with their board of directors, with their management team, and with the coach Michael Carrick to decide the best options possible, but Man United are working on another midfielder.”
“So, it’s a possibility they are considering. It’s not 100% guaranteed yet, but it’s a serious possibility in case the right opportunity arrives on the market.”
Who could Man Utd sign?
There are up to five potential targets under consideration. The Athletic have confirmed that Bournemouth’s Alex Scott, Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha, Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and Fulham’s Sander Berge are all still on the club’s radar.
Reports in Italy have linked the Manchester club with a move for Manu Kone. His club Roma are reportedly demanding upwards of €60m (£51m) for the France international.

Could a deal for Ederson be revived?
Some have suggested that, despite calling off the move for the Atalanta midfielder, United may consider reentering talks later in the summer.
However, Romano has played down the possibility, and Atalanta sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has now confirmed that they could offer Ederson a new contract.
If the Brazilian international does put pen to paper on a new deal, it would end any prospect of him joining the Red Devils for the foreseeable future.
