Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven has emerged as a summer transfer target for Man Utd.
Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez are both injury-prone, and The Athletic claim that the Red Devils are seriously weighing up a move for the Spurs star. Supporters on X are very much split on whether United should be considering a move for van de Ven:

Van de Ven has his own injury issues
If United are keen on finding more depth in the centre-back position because of concerns about the fitness of de Ligt and Martinez, then they may want to check van de Ven’s injury history before making a move for him.
The 25-year-old has suffered FOUR separate hamstring injuries that have kept him on the sidelines over the last three seasons.
It is true that van de Ven’s fitness has improved markedly this campaign, but that can be attributed to Spurs shifting from a high line to a deeper low block under Thomas Frank. The appointment of Roberto De Zerbi will change things once again.
Man Utd may have competition for the defender
The Athletic reports that Liverpool also have a longstanding interest in the Netherlands international, but there should not be too much concern about the Reds entering the race.
Jeremy Jacquet will join them from Rennes this summer, and Ibrahima Konate is now expected to sign a new contract.
A bigger factor to consider is Tottenham themselves. If Spurs are relegated, several other clubs may try to take van de Ven off their hands.
