Juventus are weighing up a move for Man Utd midfielder Manuel Ugarte, according to reports in the Italian media.
Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that the Serie A side’s sporting director, Marco Ottolini, will run the rule over the player when Uruguay take on Algeria in a friendly. Ugarte is not a regular starter for the Red Devils, having come under heavy criticism for his performances over the last two seasons, and fans on X are hoping that Juve take him off the club’s hands:

So far as they bring the money, I'm tired of all these Italian clubs and their loan deals.

Ugarte has been an expensive flop
United splashed out an initial €50m, with another €10m in add-ons, to bring him from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024.
However, Ugarte has flattered to deceive since making the switch to Old Trafford. His technical limitations have been exposed on a regular basis in the Premier League.
Interim manager Michael Carrick has not started the Uruguayan international in any fixture since his appointment before the Manchester derby back in mid-January.
Several Man Utd players are up for sale
Ugarte is not the only member of the first-team squad who could be let go at the end of the season. Loanees Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund are expected to leave, although the latter’s move to Napoli is more certain due to the conditions of the deal.
Joshua Zirkzee is also likely to be sold if a buyer can be found. The Dutchman could potentially move to Italy along with Ugarte.
