‘He’s Nothing Special’ ‘Midfield 1st’ Fans React As Romano Reveals Man Utd Move Is Off

Man Utd are “not in active talks” to sign Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils are known to be big fans of the Ghanaian international, but speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said the player is expected to move elsewhere in January:

“Manchester United, at this stage, are not in active talks for Semenyo because their focus is on investing big money in different positions, like a new midfielder.”

“Liverpool and Manchester City, both clubs remain well informed on the release clause of Antoine Semenyo, valid in January. So keep an eye on that situation.”

Fans on X are not overly fussed that Semenyo is no longer a target, with most agreeing that strengthening the midfield is the top priority:

Semenyo’s release clause made him a tempting target

It has been confirmed by multiple sources that the 25-year-old can be signed for £65m in the first two weeks of January.

A clause included in the contract that Semenyo signed in the summer means that any team could make an approach and pay the requisite fee. However, it doesn’t appear as if Ruben Amorim’s side will be in the running for his signature.
