Man Utd are lining up bids worth a combined €80m (£68.5m) for Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde and Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, according to journalist PacoJo Delgado.

Speaking to Cadena Ser‘s ‘El Larguero’ programme (quotes via Sport Witness), Delgado said that reliable sources have told him that both transfers are possible ahead of the transfer deadline:

“An intermediary with excellent international connections told me this morning that United is preparing a €30m offer for Balde and another €50m offer for Camavinga, to be submitted before the transfer window closes.”

“I don’t know what will happen, because it’s something they think about and prepare for, but I prefer to speak out than remain silent in this case. With the tax implications, these deals would cost United about the price of diesel right now, but United has the money to do it.”

Balde wants to stay at Barca

Trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano has said that the Spanish international fullback has told the La Liga champions that he doesn’t want to leave the Camp Nou.

Barca have explored the possibility of offloading Balde to raise funds for other transfers, and they have reportedly made him available for €45m (£38.5m), but it looks like that, even if United do make an offer for him, he won’t be going anywhere.

Delgado’s claim about a potential bid for Camavinga is somewhat surprising, especially as United have just officially announced the arrival of Carlos Baleba from Brighton.

The Red Devils has spent £70m to bring him to Old Trafford, having already splashed out another £85m on Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.

You can’t see another midfielder being brought in this summer, even if many fans would feel that Camavinga would be an upgrade on the options currently available to head coach Michael Carrick.
