Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Senne Lammens – 7/10 – made several good saves in the first half to keep United in it. Not called into action much as the home side took control after the break.
RB – Diogo Dalot – 6/10 – forced Scherpen to tip a shot over the bar in the first 10 minutes, but he completely lost Daizen Maeda later in the half, and Lammens was called into action to prevent a certain goal.
CB – Harry Maguire – 6/10 – the centre-back was all over the place both in and out of possession in the first 45 minutes, but it was his intervention that led to United taking the lead.
CB – Lisandro Martinez – 7/10 – the Argentinian was superb with his distribution, but his defending left a lot to be desired. He lost the ball for Akpom’s goal.
LB – Luke Shaw – 5/10 – the 31-year-old got nutmegged by Abdul Fatawu and then failed to get back in time as the Ghanaian crossed for Davis to score.
