Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount made his comeback from injury during the 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest earlier his week.
The 26-year-old had been an unused substitute against Leicester prior to the international break, but head coach Ruben Amorim gave him the last 15 minutes of the game at the City Ground.
Ahead of the derby versus Manchester City, supporters on X have been debating whether Mount will be named in the starting lineup:
Anyone instead of Garnacho

A big no in my own opinion

He should. We need anything close to quality on the pitch.

He will get injured

His only shot was closer to the goal than Garnacho’s 99 shots

Could be a game-changer! 🤔 Mount’s creativity might be just what we need against City.

The United star will be hoping his injury problems are behind him
Mount has only played 33 times for the club since moving to Manchester at the start of last season. He has been struck down with multiple injuries.
The latest one kept him out for three months, but he has been training for the past 2 to 3 weeks without suffering a setback. He will be chomping at the bit to start matches once again.
Amorim has been talking up Mount in the build-up
Speaking about the England international on Wednesday, the United boss said that the midfielder is a perfect fit for his front three:
“If you look at the history of Mason Mount, he played in this system many times, especially in Chelsea, he played left-hand, right-hand [side], so I think it’s a very good position for him.”
It does suggest that Mount will have a big part to play when he is 100% fit. Whether that means he will start at Old Trafford today, we shall have to wait and see.
