Louis Saha Claims Man Utd Outcast Can Still Have A Future At The Club But “He Has To Get Rid Of” One Fatal Flaw

Ex-Manchester United striker Louis Saka says Marcus Rashford must “get rid of” his ego if he does return to Old Trafford this summer.

The England international is currently on loan at Aston Villa, with the Midlands club also having a purchase clause to sign him for £40m at the end of the season. However, speaking to BetMGM, Saha says that if the Villans don’t want to keep the player, there is is still a chance that Rashford can be a success with the Red Devils if he is willing to improve his attitude:

“I think he can go back to Manchester United, but he needs to change his personality and mindset. He has proved on the pitch what a top player he is, but all of this ego stuff he has to get rid of – it’s as simple as that. If you want to destroy defences and help the team be successful, you have to do it in so many different ways.”

“It’s not about his teammates or the manager, it’s about him and until his attitude changes we won’t see the real Marcus Rashford. I, like many, am a big fan and was really upset when he left Manchester United because of the reasons for it breaking down at Old Trafford, but especially more the way he is performing at Aston Villa.”

“He has no excuses. It’s not about people, tactics or connections with the fans and it’s ‘b***s***’ for me anyone who says it is. It’s his job to find solutions and adapt. I do believe he can do it and if he decides to do it, I genuinely think he can do it anywhere in the world.”

Rashford’s record since leaving Old Trafford

Some pundits have praised the 27-year-old’s performances since moving to Villa Park but his numbers don’t stand up to scrutiny.

Rashford has scored 3 goals and provided 4 assists in 13 appearances. It is not a bad record by any means but it is hardly the sort of form that suggests he has bucked up his ideas since moving away from Manchester.

At the moment, it is very much touch and go whether Villa will opt to pay the £40m required to keep him.

United will be keen to sell the player

With the club’s transfer budget expected to be rather modest, funds will need to be raised through sales. With Rashford being a homegrown player, it would be hugely beneficial in terms of PSR if his move to Villa is finalised.

Even if he does end up back at Carrington, you do still feel that the Red Devils will try and seek another buyer, but we shall have to wait and see what the future holds.
