Man Utd midfielder Mason Mount returned to training on Tuesday, according to reports.
GiveMeSport claim that the 27-year-old is now expected to be available to face Ipswich Town at Old Trafford this weekend.
Mount has not been seen in action since he was taken off before halftime during the 1-1 friendly draw against Paris Saint-Germain on August 8th, nearly three weeks ago.
Following the match, head coach Michael Carrick played down the seriousness of the injury, stating the England international had simply picked up a knock.
However, scans later revealed that Mount had sustained a minor tear in his hamstring, which meant he was forced to miss the opening game of the season against Hull City last weekend.
Mount’s woeful injury record since joining United
Since moving from Chelsea in the summer of 2023, the midfielder has sustained no less than eleven separate injuries.
Mount has missed a grand total of 71 matches over that period, spending over 400 days on the treatment table. It is an extraordinary run of bad luck, having not been prone to injuries prior to his arrival at Old Trafford.
His latest setback could not have come at a worse time for him either. United have signed 3 midfielders this summer who he will be competing with, and he would have wanted to make an early impression in a bid to earn himself more starts.
