Man Utd attacking midfielder Mason Mount missed the 1-1 friendly draw against Leeds due to a foot injury.

The 27-year-old sustained the problem during the first half of the 1-1 draw versus Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday. Speaking about the player’s fitness status after the match, manager Michael Carrick said:

“He got kicked. We just wanted to be careful and look after him. ‌We’ve been lucky with injuries so far, so we wanted to be careful.”

Mount’s injury was clearly more serious than initially thought, but he should still return for the start of the Premier League season.

The summer signing hasn’t made a matchday squad for a friendly so far, despite arriving at Old Trafford a month ago.

Darlow reportedly had minor surgery at the end of last season, but there is confidence that he will be available for the opening day of the Premier League campaign.
