Man Utd midfielder Mason Mount is likely to return from his hamstring injury this weekend.

The attacking midfielder was absent for the 2-0 defeat to Hull City on Saturday, having not fully recovered from the issue he sustained at the start of August.

Mount was taken off in the first half of the 1-1 friendly draw against Paris Saint-Germain on August 8th.

Head coach Michael Carrick played down the seriousness of the injury at the time, but he has already been out for two and a half weeks.

The winger was not named in the matchday squad for the loss to Hull. Speaking about his absence, Carrick suggested that it was a relatively minor knock:

“He just picked up a niggle right at the end of the week, in training… We’ll assess that and see where he’s at. Hopefully, it won’t be too long, but we’ll have to wait and see.’

However, there have been conflicting reports on the seriousness of the injury. It has been claimed that Amad could miss up to 6 games.

The Daily Mail‘s Chris Wheeler, though, has hinted that the Ivorian could be back this weekend.
