‘Great To See’ ‘Good To Hear That’ Fans React To News That Man Utd Star Could Make Comeback After 6 Weeks Out

Manchester United are hopeful that Kobbie Mainoo will return to the matchday squad ahead of the fixture against Nottingham Forest next week.

The 19-year-old last made an appearance versus Leicester in the FA Cup back in early February and he has spent the best part of six weeks on the sidelines with a reported muscular injury.

However, the Manchester Evening News claim that Mainoo could be involved against Forest as long as he comes through training unscathed. The majority of fans on X are pleased with this latest development:

Mainoo has had a difficult season

After making his breakthrough into the first team during the 2023/24 campaign, it is fair to say that the teenager has had a much tougher time of things since the start of this season.

Mainoo has struggled with both his form and fitness. Some of that can be attributed to his age. His body needs to get used to the intensity of playing week in, week out in the Premier League. Inconsistent performances and knocks are inevitable.

United could have two other players back fit

In addition to Mainoo, MEN report that head coach Ruben Amorim is also expecting Ayden Heaven and Harry Maguire to be available after the international break.

Heaven is already out of his protective boot after sustaining a foot injury versus Leicester earlier this month. Maguire, meanwhile, needed rest to fully recover from a calf issue.
