Man United Vs Southampton Team News, Betting Odds And Where To Watch

Man United welcome Southampton to Old Trafford on Thursday night as they aim to get a second win in a row.

The Red Devils beat Arsenal on penalties in the FA Cup last weekend, progressing to the fourth round where they’ll face former interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy and Leicester City.

However, before that, they have a Premier League clash against bottom-of-the-table Southampton, who are desperate for more points in their fight against relegation.

Man United aren’t too far ahead of the Saints, as they sit 15th in the league table, on 23 points after 20 matches. They are currently, seven points above the relegation zone.

However, a recent upturn in form has been encouraging; in their last Premier League game, they held league leaders Liverpool to a draw at Anfield.

United will be without defender Diogo Dalot who was sent off during the win over Arsenal, he is suspended. Meanwhile, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans will all miss the game due to injury.

With a win against the Saints, Amorim’s United will move up to 12th in the league, getting ever closer to breaking back into the top half. Click here to see our predicted XI for the Red Devils.

Man United made heavy favourites for Southampton clash

Due to their recent upturn in form, and the fact that the Saints have only won one game this season, United are backed by the bookmakers as big favourites on Thursday night.

According to Oddschecker, Man United are 1/3 favourites to win, which gives them a 75% chance of getting the three points against the Saints.

Meanwhile, Southampton are backed to win at 9/1 (10%), and a draw is backed at 5/1 (16.7%). We predict a comfortable 3-1 win for Amorim’s side.
