Manchester United are “pushing ahead” with plans to sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, according to reports.
The Mirror claims that the Nigerian international is Ruben Amorim’s preferred striker target as he is keen to bring in an experienced player who knows how to score at the highest level.
Osimhen is closing in on the final year of his contract so it has been suggested that £40m could be enough to secure his signature. However, fans on X are split on whether the Red Devils can sign the player for such a low fee:
I know for sure if he comes utd to he will be a game changer for us. ❤️❤️💪

Osimhen has been in outstanding form
The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Galatasaray and he scored his 30th goal of the season against Konyaspor in the Turkish Cup on Tuesday evening.
It is the second time in Osimhen’s career that he has reached that milestone, having scored 31 times for Napoli in the 2022/23 campaign.
Man United are looking at multiple options
While The Mirror suggest that Osimhen is the top target, other sources believe that Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap and Wolves’ Matheus Cunha are the main priorities. The former is, though, being pursued by Chelsea as well.
Both players have release clauses in their contracts, but it would cost £92.5m to snap up the pair of them. The club are said to be looking at selling up to 7 players in order to raise the requisite funds.
