Manchester United are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, according to reports in France.
The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Juventus, where he will stay until the end of the Club World Cup.
L’Equipe claim that the Serie A side are hoping to keep Muani on a permanent basis, but they do face competition from the Red Devils and Chelsea.
At the moment, Ruben Amorim’s side are regarded as the outsiders due to the absence of Champions League football, but a lot still hinges on who is willing to meet PSG’s valuation.
Muani had a good second half of the campaign
The France international struggled for game time with PSG up until Christmas, and the Ligue One side decided to let him leave during the January transfer window.
United were linked with Muani at the time but he ended up in Italy instead, where he has scored 10 times and registered 3 assists in 21 appearances so far.
Those are decent figures, although it must be said that 5 of those goals came in his first three league appearances for Juve.
The Man United target has been praised by teammates and pundits
Muani’s fellow France international Kylian Mbappe once described him as a “very complete” player, while Matteo Guendouzi has suggested that the forward can be “one of the best strikers in Europe” when his confidence is high.
Thierry Henry has also been complimentary about Muani’s abilities in the past, even comparing him to a former Arsenal teammate of his, Nwankwo Kanu.
You would still regard Juventus as favourites for his signature at the moment, considering he has hinted that he would be open to staying in Italy. We shall have to wait and see how this transfer story plays out.
