Louis Saha Urges Man United To Sign Former £90 Million Signing Amid “Best Fit” Claim

Former Man United attacker Louis Saha has said that United should sign former midfielder Paul Pogba as his “best fit” is at Old Trafford.

United are likely to sign a central midfielder in the summer window due to the impending departure of Christian Eriksen, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

Furthermore, reports have suggested that they could sell Kobbie Mainoo amid interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea. Any sale of Mainoo would be fuelled by Profit and Sustainability Rules, as he would generate ‘pure profit’ because if him being an academy product.

They have been linked to several midfielders, however former United striker Louis Saha believes that they should sign former Red Devil Paul Pogba, who is currently a free agent.

Saha told Mega Dice: “I am surprised that Pogba hasn’t found a team yet. I don’t know what is going on.  Yes, I’m very surprised. This guy has got a lot of quality and I would love to see him at least train with the team in some capacity, it’s strange.

“But let’s see, maybe he’s waiting for next season. I still think that the best fit for me is Man Utd, because in this midfield, I can see what he can bring in the squad. You talk about experience, you talk about quality and I think personal motivation will be high. I don’t think that Chelsea can benefit from this, but Man United can.”

What has Pogba said about his future?

Pogba is able to sign for a club currently, after he completed a doping ban that lasted 18 months. He most recently played for Serie A side Juventus before his ban, but was released after it was announced.

The 32-year-old hasn’t revealed if he has a preference of where to play next, however, he was asked in an interview with Sky Sports in 2024 if he missed Man United during his ban.

He replied: “Truly, I had so many problems, I didn’t have time to think of Manchester United. I needed to get rid of all my problems and play.

“I watch Manchester United and still have teammates there. They are still one of the biggest clubs in the world – but I wasn’t thinking about more stuff.”
