Man United Handed Chance To Buy Player Who Fernandes Says “Has The Potential To Be One Of The Best Strikers In The World”

Manchester United have been offered Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos, according to reports.

The Daily Mail claim that the Portuguese international could be available for transfer just two years after PSG paid €80m to sign him from Benfica.

After losing out on Liam Delap to Chelsea, Ruben Amorim’s side are in the market for a No.9, and it appears Ramos is under consideration.

It is believed that intermediaries of the player were the ones who approached the Red Devils about a potential move so it is a transfer to keep a close eye on.

Bruno Fernandes is a big fan of Ramos

Speaking a couple of years ago, when the forward was still playing for Benfica, Man United’s captain made it clear that he would be a good fit for English football:

“He has all the qualities to play in the Premier League, and when I say Premier League, I also mean Manchester United. He has a lot of intensity, presses very well and is very good inside the box. He surprised me a lot at the national team as well as the other teammates. Physically, he’s strong, and obviously he’s going to improve a lot because he’s young.”

“If he continues to work as he has worked so far, I believe he has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the world. He’s already close to that level, but he still needs to go to a more competitive league and prove it there. I believe he has all the capabilities for that.”

Are Man United looking at any other strikers?

Missing out on Delap has meant that the Red Devils will have to reassess their options. Amorim is obviously an admirer of his former player, Viktor Gyokeres, while a move for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen can’t be completely ruled out either.
