It is fair to say that the summer transfer window isn’t really going to plan for Man Utd.

Things started reasonably well, with an early move being made for Atalanta’s Ederson, but the failure to land two top targets – Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes – has raised concerns about the club’s ambitions.

Director of Football Jason Wilcox has been forced to move to Plan C or even D to strengthen the midfield. A new left winger is still on the agenda, but there are also now question marks about the club’s plans to bring in a left-back.
