Shooting and Finishing
Shots per 90 minutes are a good indicator of a striker’s sharpness in front of goal. Of course, the more you shoot, the likelier you are to score.
On this metric, Sesko wins hands down, averaging 2.60 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga over the last two campaigns. Hojlund, in contrast, has managed a paltry 1.51 per 90.
Things are slightly more even when it comes to shot conversion, with Sesko’s shot-to-goal ratio of 22% only marginally above Hojlund’s 20%.
When we compare non-penalty xG to actual goals scored, though, Sesko demonstrates his finishing prowess with a +8.9 score to Hojlund’s +1.1. The Man United star’s number isn’t poor by any means but Sesko’s figure is a sign of an elite finisher.
