‘That Would Be Ridiculous’ ‘This Club Can’t Be Serious’ Man United Fans React To £40M Transfer Rumour

Manchester United are one of three Premier League clubs interested in bringing former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic back to the Premier League, according to reports.

TalkSPORT claims that the Red Devils, West Ham and Everton are all weighing moves for the Serbian international who could cost £40m.

Mitrovic is currently at Saudi Pro League side, Al-Hilal, the same team who are trying to buy Bruno Fernandes, and supporters on X can’t understand why the forward is being targeted:

Could Mitrovic be included in the deal for Fernandes?

The interest in the Serbian does raise the prospect of a potential part-exchange, which could involve Man United’s captain going in the other direction.

Al-Hilal are said to be willing to pay upwards of £100m to sign Fernandes, but you can understand why fans would not be satisfied if they received Mitrovic and only £60m in return.

The forward is already 30 years of age, and he would not have any resale value. It seems like a bad deal all round.

Are Man United considering other strikers?

The likes of Crystal Palace’s Jean Philippe Mateta, Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres and Brighton’s Joao Pedro have been mentioned as alternatives after losing out on Liam Delap to Chelsea.

Mitrovic would probably be the least appetising option available, especially if Al-Hilal hold out for their current asking price.
