Man United should end pursuit of this ace and put faith in their current options

Manchester United have already shown their financial strength in the transfer market by securing moves for Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku but reports suggest Jose Mourinho’s business is not yet complete, as he looks to strengthen his side for a Premier League title charge and their return to the Champions League.

A host of top-class names have been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer and Inter Milan’s Croatian winger Ivan Perisic seems to be the man on everybody’s lips at the moment, as the Red Devils look to bring him into their side and strengthen their attacking line.

Perisic’ arrival would likely see the Croatian ace play on the left-hand side of the attack, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the opposite flank and Romelu Lukaku leading the line. However, Jose Mourinho should reassess his options and put faith in one top-class asset.

Anthony Martial endured a difficult season last term following Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford and there has been some speculation suggesting the Frenchman could be on his way out, which would certainly be a major mistake on the Red Devils’ part.

Martial lacked confidence last season and it’s clear he’s a player who thrives on belief in his own ability- and he can be a huge part of any success Manchester United secure next season if Mourinho puts his faith in the former Monaco man.

The French international showed his best form in the latest pre-season clash with Real Madrid, a tie the Red Devils won on penalties, and provided a superb assist for Jesse Lingard to open the scoring- skipping away from three players before superbly picking out his English team-mate in the middle.

It’s a clear reminder of what an on-form and confident Anthony Martial can provide Jose Mourinho’s side and moving for Perisic would shatter Martial’s development, as he’d certainly lose confidence and may struggle to secure first-team opportunities.

Still just 21, it’s scary that Martial can continue to get better in the coming years and Jose Mourinho should certainly put faith in the youngster this summer, instead of splashing a huge amount on the services of Perisic.
