GK – Andre Onana – after being ‘rested’ against Newcastle, the 29-year-old is expected to return for the second leg. Altay Bayindir didn’t really provide a case against recalling United’s No.1, with the Turkish international producing a howler of his own against Newcastle
CB – Noussair Mazraoui – the defender fell below his usually high standards at the weekend. He will be looking to improve on his showing at St James’ Park with a solid display on Thursday.
CB – Harry Maguire – the centre-back was an unused substitute on Sunday evening but he is likely to return to the eleven against Lyon with Victor Lindelof making way.
CB – Leny Yoro – it has been an up-and-down week for the 19-year-old. He was superb in the first leg before struggling somewhat versus Newcastle. Inconsistency is, however, inevitable at such a young age.
