Midfield
RWB – Amad Diallo – the Ivorian struggled when playing on the left of the front three at the Etihad, and the Red Devils need more of an attacking threat from wingback than Noussair Mazraoui.
CM – Casemiro – neither the Brazilian nor Manuel Ugarte are exactly in great form, but the 5x Champions League winner is a big game player.
CM – Bruno Fernandes – while pundits and fans don’t believe the captain should be playing so deep, Amorim seems insistent on selecting him in the midfield two.
LWB – Patrick Dorgu – if Diogo Dalot is fit, we would prefer the Portuguese international to start. Otherwise, Dorgu will keep his place.
Forwards
RW – Bryan Mbeumo – the summer signing has posed the most threat of any United forward so far this season, and he will be looking to get on the scoresheet against Chelsea.
ST – Benjamin Sesko – the striker has struggled to get going since his move from RB Leipzig, but some believe there are mitigating circumstances.
LW – Joshua Zirkzee – the Dutchman could be handed a start if Matheus Cunha is not deemed fit.
