Midfield

RWB – Noussair Mazraoui – 6/10 – didn’t do too badly on his first start of the season. Had to be taken off on the hour mark due to fatigue.

CM – Manuel Ugarte – 5/10 – a Jekyll and Hyde performance. Got around the pitch well in the first half, but he kept giving the ball away after the break.

CM – Bruno Fernandes – 4/10 – clearly at fault for the opener as he was caught ball-watching. He needs to be playing further forward to impact the game in the right areas.

LWB – Patrick Dorgu – 4/10 – the 20-year-old needs to brush up on his crossing. He attempted 7 in total and none of them led to a chance of note.

Forwards

RW – Bryan Mbeumo – 6/10 – the forward’s best moment came when he forced Gianluigi Donnarumma into an outstanding save with a fine volley.

ST – Benjamin Sesko – 5/10 – the Slovenian had a good first half, holding up the ball and getting himself into dangerous positions. However, like his teammates, he struggled in the second 45.

LW – Amad Diallo – 5/10 – kept swapping sides with Mbeumo but he was considerably less effective than his teammate. Fired a cross in late on, which bounced off Mbeumo and went wide of the goal.

Substitutes

Harry Maguire – 4/10 – lost the ball in the build-up to City’s third goal and was outpaced by Haaland.

Kobbie Mainoo – 5/10 – got into some promising positions with his dribbling, but it didn’t lead to anything.

Joshua Zirkzee – 5/10 – replaced Sesko with 10 minutes to go but made very little impact.

Casemiro – 4/10 – missed one of United’s best chances as he poked the ball wide.
