It wasn’t pretty by any means, but Man United secured a vital victory against Chelsea at the weekend.
Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro put the home side 2-0 up before the latter was sent off and made things more difficult for Ruben Amorim’s men. Trevoh Chalobah’s header meant it was a nervy final 10 minutes but the Red Devils got over the line.
Read below as we provide our Man United player ratings for the 2-1 win at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Altay Bayindir – 6/10 – didn’t really have much to do, other than picking the ball out of his own net.
CB – Matthijs de Ligt – 7/10 – the Dutchman was reliable both in defence and attack. He was asked to get forward pretty regularly on the right-hand side of the back three.
CB – Harry Maguire – 8/10 – the centre-back dominated Joao Pedro. It was a strange decision from Amorim to substitute him at 2-0.
CB – Luke Shaw – 8/10 – a massive improvement on the Manchester derby, making key contributions at both ends of the pitch.
