Midfield

RWB – Noussair Mazraoui – 8/10 – he hasn’t always looked good at wingback but he was a bundle of energy up and down the right flank.

CM – Casemiro – 5/10 – scored Man United’s second but he was sent off. His second booking was rather harsh but such an experienced player shouldn’t have put himself in that position.

CM – Bruno Fernandes – 8/10 – it was a captain’s performance. Opened the scoring and could have easily had a second.

LWB – Patrick Dorgu – 7/10 – his header got him an assist for the first goal, and he was also involved in the second. However, his inconsistency with his crossing and some poor defensive work lowers his score.

Forwards

RW – Bryan Mbeumo – 8/10 – Robert Sanchez’s red card was a direct result of his superb movement. Chelsea struggled to keep track of the forward all evening.

ST – Benjamin Sesko – 6/10 – his flick on led to Mbeumo’s chance and Sanchez’s red. However, he then missed a great opportunity to score before being substituted after Casemiro’s early bath.

LW – Amad Diallo – 5/10 – the Ivorian didn’t have one of his best games in possession. He is much better when asked to play from the right.

Substitutes

Manuel Ugarte – 5/10 – the usual from the Uruguayan – a mixture of big tackles and poor passing.

Matheus Cunha – 6/10 – carried the ball to run down the clock in the final 10 minutes.

Mason Mount – 6/10 – worked hard out of possession to prevent Chelsea from finding openings.

Leny Yoro –  4/10 – lost Chalobah and Chelsea scored. Why Amorim chose to put him on when United were comfortable defensively is anyone’s guess.

Kobbie Mainoo – N/A – came on too late to impact proceedings.
