Midfield

RWB – Amad Diallo – 6/10 – it was a mixed bag from the Ivorian. He missed a sitter when Bryan Mbeumo put him in on goal but he also won the crucial penalty.

CM – Casemiro – 6/10 – the Brazilian had an excellent first half, dominating the midfield and his header crashed off the crossbar before Cullen’s own goal. However, Casemiro did fade after the interval.

CM – Bruno Fernandes – 7/10 – the captain stood up to the plate with some good passing as well as holding his nerve with the winning penalty.

LWB – Diogo Dalot – 6/10 – an excellent assist with his cutback for Mbeumo’s goal, but just before that, he was at fault for Burnley’s first equaliser, as he failed to close down the cross.

Forwards

RW – Bryan Mbeumo – 8/10 – United’s best player. Teed up Amad for his gilt-edged chance in the first half before calmly slotting away his opportunity in the second.

CF – Matheus Cunha – 6/10 – looked bright before going off with a muscular injury, putting a header wide and making some mazy runs. Hopefully, he will be back after the international break.

LW – Mason Mount – 7/10 – superb until he got injured again. The 26-year-old cannot catch a break.

Substitutes

Joshua Zirkzee – 6/10 – his flick-on header led to United’s second goal.

Kobbie Mainoo – 5/10 – clearly not enthusiastic about staying based on this performance.

Benjamin Sesko – 5/10 – the striker saw two headers go wide.

Noussair Mazraoui – N/A – did not make much of an impact after replacing Yoro, but his return from injury is welcome.
