Man United Player Ratings Vs Brentford: Two Players Get 3/10 And Four Others Get 4

Man United suffered another disappointing defeat at the hands of Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

Two first-half goals from Igor Thiago put the home side into a commanding lead before Benjamin Sesko brought the visitors back into the game.

The real turning point came, though, when United captain Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty in the second half, with Mathias Jensen then subsequently securing victory with a goal in stoppage time. Read below as we share our United player ratings for the 3-1 loss at the Gtech Community Stadium:

Goalkeeper and Defence

GK – Altay Bayindir – 5/10 – made several impressive saves, but he could have done better when parrying the ball before Thiago’s second, and he could have also kept out Jensen’s long-range strike.

CB – Matthijs de Ligt – 4/10 – after a great start to the season, this performance was a major step back. Failed to close down Kevin Schade ahead of Brentford’s second goal, and he nearly handed them another with a poor header.

CB – Harry Maguire – 3/10 – played Thiago onside for the opening goal and he never really recovered from there until he was replaced on 66 minutes.

CB – Luke Shaw – 4/10 – poor in possession and not much better without it, with Dango Ouattara proving a tricky customer.
