‘This Is Turning Into A Disaster’ ‘Cooked’ Man United Fans Reel From Triple Blow Ahead Of Derby

Man United head coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Matheus Cunha, Mason Mount and Diogo Dalot won’t play against Man City this weekend.

The trio were injury doubts heading into Sunday, and speaking in his pre-match press conference, Amorim said they are not going to be available for the derby:

“They are out for this game. I don’t know how long it’s going to take; we need the guys to be a very, very competitive team. We have players who are eager, so we will be competitive on Sunday. But they are out, they cannot help us in this game.”

“I don’t want to say. If you talk with Cunha, if you catch Cunha outside, he will say he can play this game! I don’t know. We will manage day by day, but they are pushing really hard. And that is a good thing.”

Understandably, supporters on X were not happy about the injury update from Amorim:

How will Man United cope without the trio?

Benjamin Sesko will likely replace Cunha up front, while there is a chance that captain Bruno Fernandes will fill in for Mount on the left wing.

Patrick Dorgu is now expected to be recalled in place of Dalot, after being dropped from the starting eleven for the win over Burnley last time out.

Cunha is pushing to play

Based on Amorim’s marks, it seems the club are being cautious with Cunha’s hamstring. The Brazilian took to social media earlier this week to signal that he was targeting a return in the derby.

However, Cunha only picked up his injury less than 2 weeks ago, so if he comes back too early, he could risk a recurrence.
