Man United Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Amad, Noussair Mazraoui And One Other Player

Man United winger Amad Diallo missed the defeat to Brentford due to a family bereavement.

Head coach Ruben Amorim confirmed last week that the Ivorian international would not be in the matchday squad for the trip to the Gtech Community Stadium.

It remains to be seen when Amad will return to training and whether he will be available for the match against Sunderland this weekend.
Expected Return Date – Unknown

Noussair Mazraoui

The defender has sustained a thigh injury, and he won’t return before the next international break.

Mazraoui missed the start of the season with a hamstring problem, and he made just three appearances before being forced back on the treatment table.

The 27-year-old was one of United’s most impressive performers during the 2-1 win over Chelsea, and his presence was missed against Brentford. He will also be absent when Amorim’s men take on Sunderland this Saturday.

Expected Return Date – Sunday 19th October vs Liverpool (a)

Lisandro Martinez

The centre-back has been sidelined with an ACL injury since being stretchered off during a defeat to Crystal Palace all the way back in February.

Martinez appears to be making some progress in his rehabilitation, having been seen back out on the training pitch with a personal trainer over the past couple of weeks.

However, recovery time for ACLs can range between 9 and 12 months, and it is not known how long it will be before we see the Argentinian international back in full training.

United are undoubtedly missing his leadership as well his defensive capabilities. Amorim has been relying on Luke Shaw to play on the left-hand side of his back three but there is no doubt that Martinez would be first choice for that position if he was fully fit.

Expected Return Date – Unknown
