REPORT: Manchester United Starlet Who Is ‘Expected To Leave’ In Transfer Talks With EFL Club

Manchester United starboy Brandon Williams is in talks to join Championship outfit Ipswich Town on a loan transfer deal, according to a tweet from journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The deal includes an option to buy clause, which would allow Williams to leave United on a permanent basis – as things stand, it is unclear as to whether Ipswich have any intention to activate it or not.

Nevertheless, it seems that this will be the end of Williams’ Manchester United journey – even if the Tractor Boys choose to not sign him permanently, his Red Devils contract will expire in the summer of 2024.

In Romano’s tweet, he wrote: “Negotiations between Ipswich Town and Manchester United for Brandon Williams are advancing. Loan deal to include buy option clause. Williams, in the list of players expected to leave Man United by the end of the window.”

Will Manchester United miss Brandon Williams?

Last season, despite spending the entire season at Old Trafford, Williams’ game time for United was very limited. He was limited to merely playing for the U21s team – his single senior team appearance came during a game against Burnley in the EFL cup – even then, he only played five minutes at the end of the match.

At the age of 22, Williams is still young – however, he has shown little evidence that he will develop into a player who has enough quality to command a regular spot in the Red Devils’ first team.

Who else could leave United before the end of the transfer window?

United have been busy in the summer transfer window. Erik Ten Hag is keen to cut out anyone who he deems as surplus to requirements – Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Di’Shon Bernard, Charlie Wellens, Manni Norkett, Eric Hanbury and Ethan Galbraith all departed the club on free transfers upon the expiration of their contracts.

Others, such as David De Gea, Jack Butland and Eric Bailly, have also made their exit from the Red Devils this summer.

Several audiences speculated that Aaron Wan-Bissaka could leave Old Trafford in the summer – despite this, Ten Hag seems to be giving him a second chance after starting him in their first two games of the Premier League season.
