Maguire And McTominay Return, Rojo And Fred Out: Manchester United’s Predicted Line Up To Face Newcastle

Manchester United make the trip to Newcastle tomorrow bereft of confidence. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have not won away in any competition since the famous night in Paris back in March.

After the wretched display in Alkmaar, there will be some changes but not as many as Solskjaer would like considering the injury problems that the Red Devils face.

Harry Maguire will come back into the defence to replace Marcos Rojo. The Argentine could actually play left-back at St James’ Park but Solskjaer may keep faith with Axel Tuanzebe, with Ashley Young coming in for Diogo Dalot at right-back.

The continued absence of Paul Pogba means either Nemanja Matic or Fred will probably start despite their bad performances midweek. Solskjaer may go for the Serbian’s defensive solidity alongside Scott McTominay.

Juan Mata will likely keep his place as the number 10 following Jesse Lingard’s injury. On the wings, Daniel James will be moved back to a more familiar position on the left-hand side with Marcus Rashford coming back in up front.

It will be a toss-up between Andreas Pereira and Mason Greenwood on the right-wing, with the former likely to be selected after missing out against AZ.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Newcastle:

De Gea, Young, Lindelof, Maguire, Tuanzebe, McTominay, Mata, Matic, Pereira, Rashford, James
