Maguire And Matic To Start, Lindelof And McTominay Out: United’s Predicted XI To Take On West Ham

Manchester United were somewhat fortunate to get the three points against Brentford but their superior finishing was the key difference between them and their opponents on Wednesday night.

They won’t want David De Gea to be as busy when they face West Ham this afternoon. The Spaniard will take his place in goal today, but there will be a change in the back four.

Victor Lindelof is unavailable so captain Harry Maguire is expected to be recalled to the starting eleven, with Raphael Varane partnering him in the centre of defence. Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles are likely to keep their places in the two fullback positions.

In midfield, Scott McTominay is suffering with a back injury, so Nemanja Matic could replace him, with the Serbian lining up alongside Fred and Bruno Fernandes.

Up front, manager Ralf Rangnick is unlikely to make any alterations from the front three that started versus Brentford. Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the line, with Mason Greenwood and Anthony Elanga playing either side of him.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI:

De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Telles, Fred, Fernandes, Matic, Greenwood, Ronaldo, Elanga
