Luckhurst Confirms United Have Had Meeting With Agent Of 55M Rated Striker

Manchester United’s Football Director John Murtough has held talks with the agent of Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko, according to the Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst.

It is believed that Sesko’s representative Elvis Basanovic and Murtough had a meeting on Wednesday last week to discuss the Slovenian international’s interest in making the switch to Old Trafford:

Manager Erik ten Hag is keen on bringing in a least one forward option before the transfer window closes and it appears that Sesko has been identified as a key target.

The teenager is reportedly valued at around £55m by Salzburg, so he would be cheaper than one of United’s alternatives, Antony, who could cost between £67m and £84m.

Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in Sesko in recent days and other teams are also likely to be pursuing him, with Luckhurst claiming that Basanovic is “attempting to whip up a market” for the 19-year-old. It means United will have to move fast if they want to secure the striker’s signature.
