‘Looked Quality’ ‘Very Good’ ‘Class’ Fans Were Very Impressed With United Starlet’s Display Against Young Boys

Manchester United defender Teden Mengi played the final half-hour of the 1-1 draw against Young Boys in the Champions League last night.

The 19-year-old made only his second appearance for the first team, as manager Ralf Rangnick gave him his opportunity as a substitute, replacing Luke Shaw.

Supporters were impressed by what they saw of Mengi, and some believe that he deserves to get more minutes for the senior side:

Mengi did get some experience on loan at Derby County last season, joining Wayne Rooney’s side in February and playing nine matches in total.

However, playing for a struggling Championship side and performing for a team such as United are two entirely different things and the teenager will have his work cut out getting game time.

The centre-back is competing with the likes of Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly so we shall see if he is sent out on another loan spell.
