Lisandro Martinez’s Transfer Stance Is Revealed As United And Arsenal Pursue 42M Rated Defender

Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez is interested in moving to the Premier League, according to The Mirror’s Simon Mullock.

The journalist claims that both Manchester United and Arsenal have held “secret” talks with the player’s agent this week where they were told of the centre-back’s interest in making the switch to England, along with his asking price:

It is believed that Ajax are holding out for roughly £42m to sell Martinez this summer, which is substantially more than both what United and the Gunners are prepared to pay for him currently.

Erik ten Hag’s side were reportedly willing to put £30m on the table for the Argentinian international, while Arsenal have already had a £25m offer knocked back. Neither team is, therefore, close to agreeing a deal for Martinez.

United are expected to focus their efforts on signing Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong for the time being but they may well revisit the Martinez situation later in the transfer window.
