Lisandro Martinez Names Arsenal Star As The Most Difficult Opponent He Has Faced In The Premier League

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez claims Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has been the toughest opponent he has come against since moving to English football.

The Telegraph say the Argentinian international named Jesus as the player he has had the most difficulty playing against, having faced him when United won 3-1 back in September.

Jesus was injured for the Red Devils’ 3-2 defeat at the Emirates last month so it is slightly surprising that Martinez opted to choose the Brazilian; particularly as he has only come up against him once.

He must have made a serious impression on the 25-year-old, who certainly hasn’t been overawed since arriving from Ajax at the start of the season.

Many questioned Martinez’s ability to play centre-back in the Premier League due to his lack of height, but he has passed nearly every test with flying colours, proving to be an invaluable player for Erik ten Hag’s side.
