Lingard, Ighalo And Van De Beek Start, Rashford On The Bench: United’s Predicted XI To Play Watford

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to field a much-changed starting line up when they face Watford at Old Trafford this evening.

The FA Cup clash is not the priority as play face Burnley in the Premier League on Tuesday night, where they could go top of the table even with a draw in that game.

Dean Henderson will likely keep his place in goal after starting the Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City during the week. Axel Tuanzebe could deputise for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back with Alex Telles on the opposite flank. Eric Bailly may be recalled to replace Victor Lindelof in the centre of defence, with Harry Maguire still expected to captain the side.

In midfield, Nemanja Matic didn’t start against City so the Serbian may replace Scott McTominay and partner Fred, with Donny van de Beek playing as the number 10 in the absence of Bruno Fernandes.

Up front, it will be a toss-up between Daniel James and Jesse Lingard for one of the roles on the wing, but reports suggest that the latter is in contention to start, alongside the likes of Juan Mata and Odion Ighalo. Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba will likely only be used from the bench if they are needed.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Watford:

Henderson, Tuanzebe, Bailly, Maguire, Telles, Fred, van de Beek, Matic, Mata, Ighalo, Lingard
