Lingard And Williams To Start: Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Aston Villa

It hasn’t been a great week for Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with the 3-3 draw against Sheffield United followed by the 2-1 defeat to Astana.

It was a young team that travelled out to Kazahkstan, though, and there will be a more familiar look to the starting eleven when they face Aston Villa at Old Trafford tomorrow.

Solskjaer is unlikely to go with a back three again after abandoning the formation at half time versus the Blades. It means that Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Brandon Williams will likely make up the four-man defence.

Luke Shaw did return against Astana but after a few months on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, playing the fullback for the second time in the space of a few days would not be wise.

United’s midfield was also a problem area against Sheffield United, and after scoring midweek, Jesse Lingard may be given another chance to impress alongside Fred and Andreas Pereira.

The front three pretty much picks itself at the moment with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Dan James all expected to start once again on Sunday.
