Manchester United fans have slammed ‘overweight’ Luke Shaw following his cameo during the win over Crystal Palace on Monday night.

The Red Devils produced an astonishing comeback to take all three points from Selhurst Park.

Trailing 2-0 early in the second half thanks to goals from Andros Townsend and Patrick Van Aanholt, United looked dead and buried.


However a rare goal for Chris Smalling sparked Jose Mourinho’s side into action. Romelu Lukaku levelled the scores with 15 minutes to go, before another former Chelsea star Nemanja Matic scored a phenomenal extra-time winner with his half-volley from the 25-yards out.

Shaw came on for Antonio Valencia after 67 minutes during the clash against Roy Hodgson’s side, making only his 14th appearance of the season in all competitions.

The Englishman spent much of his early career at United sidelined through injury, however impressed during his 25 minute cameo on Monday night.

Though it wasn’t his performance that most caught the eye of the United fans – with onlookers quick to point out that the former Southampton star looked overweight.

Shaw has previously come under criticism over his weight, with former United boss Louis Van Gaal describing him as “not fit enough” and pundit Danny Mills claiming the former England international was clearly not “eating and training right” after his return to action from injury back last year.

Shaw put in a well-rounded (get it?) performance on Monday at Selhurst Park, but the United fans were quick to criticise the 22-year-old for his apparent lack of fitness …
