Paris Saint-Germain are targeting a move for Manchester United midfielder Fred, according to reports in the English media.

The Brazilian international has only recently had his contract extended until 2024 but there is a belief that he will be sold by the club if a suitable bid is tabled.

Fred has only started seven times in all competitions and it is believed that the Red Devils will consider offers in the region of £30m.

Despite his lack of game time, manager Erik ten Hag is clearly a fan of the 29-year-old. After playing a crucial role in the 2-0 win over Tottenham in October, the United boss said:

“I said to him before the match: ‘Are you ready?’ and he said: ‘I am always ready’. And he proved it. It was a magnificent performance from Fred, that’s clear.”

Even so, it appears that Fred would seriously consider a move to PSG, with the opportunity for more starts likely to be an overriding factor in his decision. We shall see if the Ligue One champions make an offer in January or at the end of the season.
