“Let’s See…” Romano Makes Big Claim About United’s Move To Sign 106M Rated South American Star

Manchester United may be in a position to sign Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez next summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Chelsea have been in negotiations for the Argentinian international but it is believed that talks have stalled after the Blues refused to pay the player’s €120m (£106m) release clause. Romano claims it could work to United’s advantage if money does become available after a potential change of ownership:

“Manchester United are not currently negotiating for Enzo, but let’s see what happens in the summer, because if Enzo stays at Benfica until the summer, then it could be really interesting because probably Man United will have new owners.”

It’s fair to say that Romano is being rather speculative with his remarks here. Not only do United have to hope that nobody makes a big move to sign Fernandez this month, there are also no guarantees that new owners will be in place by the end of the season.

In addition to Chelsea, the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old, so there are plenty of variables to consider that can affect the situation. We shall have to wait and see how this transfer story develops.
