Manchester United defender Raphael Varane is still suffering from the effects of an ankle injury. The Frenchman came on in the closing stages against Everton on Sunday but he hasn’t been taking a full part in training this week.

While the centre-back is not expected to play versus Omonia, there is hope that he will be back available to face Newcastle United this weekend.

Anthony Martial had to be substituted before half-time against Everton with a back problem and the forward is believed to be touch and go for the match versus the Magpies.

Donny van de Beek is still building up his fitness as he works his way back from a muscular injury, while captain Harry Maguire remains on the treatment table with a hamstring strain.

There have been no updates regarding Aaron Wan-Bissaka (muscular) or Brandon Williams (knock) so it’s unlikely that they’ll be back in contention for matches any time soon.
